Couples Therapy

Find your way back to each other - licensed therapist for couples/marital/premarital/relationship counseling in Tucson

Couples therapy to break the cycle you keep getting stuck in, and rebuild a connection that feels safe again.

Is This You?

Maybe you and your partner keep having the same fight. Maybe one of you reaches for closeness and the other pulls away — and neither of you fully understands why. Maybe you still love each other, but somewhere along the way you stopped feeling like a team. Maybe you've thought, "We just don't communicate," without knowing how to actually change that. You may be feeling exhausted and worried that things will never change. Whatever it is that you’re experiencing, you’re noticing the impact of this in your life:

If any of this sounds familiar, you're not broken, and neither is your relationship. You're stuck in a pattern — and patterns can shift.

Therapy for your relationship can help you…

  • Build practical tools for navigating disagreements constructively

  • Reconnect with the love and closeness you once shared

  • Work through old wounds still affecting the relationship

  • Feel truly understood and heard by your partner

  • Create a shared vision and common goals for the future

  • Interrupt the patterns driving anger, frustration, and distance

Using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), we'll slow down and get underneath the argument to what's actually driving it — the fears, the longing to matter to each other, the raw spots that get touched without either of you meaning to. Once you can see the cycle clearly, together, it starts to lose its grip. From there, we work on rebuilding the kind of secure connection where both of you feel like you can reach for the other and be met.

Building On What's Already Working. Enough Of Rehashing The Past…

Alongside EFT, I bring a Solution-Focused approach — because even in the hardest stretch, most couples still have moments that work. Solution Focus therapy is present, future focused and based on your strengths as people. We'll look for what is working, the times you did feel connected, the conversation that went better than expected, the small thing your partner did that actually helped. Instead of only picking apart what's going wrong, we'll use those moments as a blueprint for where you want to go, and build concrete, achievable steps to get there.

"What If My Partner Won't Go?"

This is one of the most common hesitations — and a fair one. Sometimes the partner who's less sure about therapy just needs to know what to expect: no blame, no taking sides, no being talked at. I'm not there to referee or decide who's right — my role is to stay neutral and work for the relationship, not for one partner over the other. What's said in session stays confidential within our work together, and there's no keeping score. The first session is about understanding your relationship and your cycle together, not assigning fault. Many partners who were reluctant at first find that once they're in the room, it feels less like an interrogation and more like finally being heard.

What the First Session Looks Like…

We'll spend the first session getting a picture of your relationship — how you met, what was it like when things were good, what's changed, and what your negative cycle looks like. There's no pressure to have the "right" answers. My job is to help both of you feel heard, and to start mapping a path forward together.

You don't have to keep having the same fight. Let's find a different way forward — together.
